Long time, no C#(sea)

Wow, so I haven’t posted up in here in ages. AGES. Not doing much now. Listening to the Polyphonic Spree: Fragile Army. I really really like that album. Their live show is amazing. It’s like 30 people on stage playing music at once, and somehow sounding amazing at the same time. It’s a beautifully deep and touching show. If they should come to your town, check them out. It’s definitely worth it.

Hmm, what’s been goin’ on of late? Well, let’s see. Meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends. Starting to the learn the accordion. I dig it. March sucked. Well, March always sucks. My dad tells me if you make it through March, you’ll be good until next March. It’s always like cold and looking like it’s gonna rain, but it never really “rains” and just tempts you with sprinkles and flurries, but nothing ever happens. Yeah, if you can’t tell, I hate the month of March, which is funny cause I love the month of April, which is basically March’s next door neighbor. For me, it’s like Mr. Rogers and Hitler living next to each other, and like, I have to pass Hitler’s house on the way to Mr. Rogers’ house. And Hitler has all these swastikas on his front lawn and is pointing and taunting me, but I know once I make it to Mr. Rogers’ house, he’ll greet me with a smile and a glass of brandy. And maybe a cigar. Maybe. If I’m lucky.

What else? Tried to quit smoking, but I have seriously cut back drastically. That’s always good. Got a little sick for a couple months and couldn’t hang with friends for a while. Just slept alot. That sucked. Starting to get better now. For our live shows, if I’ve been a little lackluster, I’ve been suffering from some sort of chronic fatigue. I’m shaking it now, and hopefully will be up to 100% here in a couple weeks. I’m seriously feeling better, and I’m excited about that.

Oooh, I got economically stimulated by the government. I bought a fancy ipod touch; my first Ipod ever. That and I’m going to get a new bike. Personally, I think the stimulus package is silly, but feh, I’ll take the money and run with it.

Well, that’s all that’s new with me. I’ll try to keep this as updated at least as much as everyone else does. Just in case you care. :)

Wheew, that was a long time.

Wow, so our site got haxored by some not so nice people. You’d figure they’d try to hack something of significance to them and not some rock band from Virginia. Meh, whateva, if it makes them feel better I don’t mind too much.

Had alot on my mind of late but who doesn’t. Tom Petty sez it best with his song about Mary Jane: “Keep moving. On. Keep moving on.” Yeah that song is awesome. There was a lyric in that song about a girl in her underwear. That makes the Mary Jane song awesomer.

We’re touring right now if you haven’t figure that one out right now. We’re recording right now and about to grab some lunch and record some more. I’m hungry.

“Oh my my, oh hell yes, you gotta put on that party dress”. I’m probably the first Shapiro member to use the word hell in their blog entry. That makes me special.

CONTGRATULATIONS GREG AND LINDSEY!!!/WEIRDO DREAMS
September 16, 2007

YAY GREG AND LINDSEY! You’re married now! YAY!!! Ya’ll had an awesome wedding, swords included. That was awesome. And the open bar, and the dancing, and all the wonderful people. Thanks so much for inviting us to your wedding!!! You’re a beautiful couple and I know you guys will make each other happy.

Had an awesome last night hanging out with old friends and made some new ones. Probably celebrated too hard as I had some really odd dreams:

I was abducted by giant orange aliens and taken to their planet to be their new pet for their house. They weren’t actually bizarre aliens as they had a normal family life. I was just their pet is all. Thats all.
Then I think I thought I woke up, but it was actually another dream and I was in the elevator of the hotel we stayed in. There were 14 or so people crammed into the elevator and it was going down really quick.
Finally, I had a dream I was trying to put clear tape on a fish aquarium that was getting cracks in the glass and water was leaking out. Odd…

Still reading Mingus’s autobiography. Had an awesome time in Richmond. The Camel is a pretty nice place and I enjoyed the bands we played with (Future Kings of Nowhere and Now Sleepyhead). Thanks Katie for letting us crash at your place and for introducing us to your dancer friends. Had a great time dancing the night away. I’d love to come back and dance the night away if you’ll have me.

To everybody who came out to the Hburg show, thanks alot! That was a lot of fun. I got to meet Tim from Buckledown again. That was exciting, as he is the one who inspired me to play rock ‘n ‘roll. I haven’t seen that guy in years. Thanks Tim Skirv (sp?) for setting up the show and letting us jump on last minute. I have alot more thankyous, but I’ll do em properly later.

To the kids in the south, we’re coming this week.
